American Rhythm History

Founded in 2000 by Twilla Mann, American Rhythm begin performing clogging and folk dance. The young performers also combined singing with dance steps under the direction of Lianne Ames to present songs from as early as the American 1700s.

American Rhythm has participated yearly in “Santa-Cali-Gon,” a festival celebration of pioneer history in Independence, Missouri. The group was also featured in “Thank You Mr. President,” at the Truman Memorial Building, Independence, Missouri in February 2006. Other performances include charity benefits, parades, community service, retirement homes and educational events.

Currently, these home schooled dedicated dancers and performers showcase high energy talent in a program of American tradition and values that appeal to the entire family. The group is a 2010 and 2011 featured program at participating Mid-Continent Public Libraries in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area.
